Well i got a giggle out of the bug
My AVG says my last scan was 48 yrs ago … damn
It is a known bug and avg have said it will be corrected in the next version, why dont the avg technoligy reps read from the same script. It seems to be the same bug that was in the previouse version last year. In the past i have had remote help from the tech guys /repair and reinstall avg but all you do is to install the same buggy version.
Reading the above, I'm not holding my breath this will be fixed. AVG stock is dropping quickly for me – if the software doesn't even know when the last scan was, did the scan really do what it's supposed to do? I updated to 18.2.3046 yesterday and still the same mis-infrmation that my last scan was 2 weeks ago when it was really last night.
I am on version 8.4xx and its hard to overlook when a scan completes the interface says last scan 3 months ago. I have repaired the installation after being unable to rescue a false positive file from quaranteen. AVG has likely saved me more times than I know but the interface is getting worse over time. Set up a timeless standard interface and quit rearranging the levers and dials. Leave the furniture where its at. We are blind out here.
Hello Frank,
May I know if you have done AVG Scan by clicking "Scan Computer" button? I also request you to share a screenshot of your AVG protection User Interface to assist you further. You can post the screenshot here on your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
Best regards,
Alok.

Hello Keith,
I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused. You're correct, yesterday we have confirmed this as a bug. Our development teams are working on a fix and the issue will be fixed in next AVG protection updates (18.1), which will be release soon. Regarding remote assistance: We were trying to fix this issue on your computer by reinstalling/repairing AVG protection, as the issue was not confirmed as a bug.
Best regards,
Alok.
Jamie,
Sorry, it might be due to some technical glitch. Have you initiated the scan manually and checked with the status? Is your AVG product is up to date?
