Internet connectivity is bad Microsoft suggested AVG VPN was blocking

If I've misunderstood, please share us a screenshot of the AVG window where you've switched your network from Private to Public.

My newish Dell laptop suddenly had issues with most apps.  I did Windows troubleshooting but nothing helped.  I saw that MS suggested Public type home internet.  Mine was set to Private.  So I switched to Public.  That blocked everything.  I couldn't reach you online.  i switched back to Private and now it works.  Please answer my question…Should I use Private or Public   I have 5 subscriptions with AVG and I paid for your supersupport, but don/t have their phone number.  Please provide that, too.
