Internet explorer stopped working when I uninstalled avg antivirus

Hi
My laptop was working fine. I uninstalled AVG antivirus and not the internet is connected via WiFi but the browser pages don't load I.e. not internet page access. Yes there is a firewall just like all laptops. All AVG software has been uninstalled and now I can't access the internet.

Hi Michael, I am a business owner in UK, owning Complete Drain Care (https://completedraincare.co.uk/). I am using a web base application to handle all jobs. I am using AVG for last couple of years to secure my important data from threats. Initially I used the free version of AVG and it was great though but i wanted to get the full benefits of AVG so I bought it and using it without any problem. I have uninstalled the software twice for some reasons and it never created any issue with the browsing. May be you accidentally have uninstalled the internet driver?

I had Google chrome which has stopped working and Internet explorer isn't working. I've tried the rest you suggested and it's made no difference

But AVG will not cause such issue.

I uninstalled avg antivirus and now the internet won't work. I've seen multiple people who have had a same issue. I've now got no access to the internet but my Wi-Fi is connected and because of that my McAfee antivirus will not install

uninstalling the AVG Antivirus has cause the issue as the internet browser was working fine before then. I've just remembered I also uninstalled avg tuneup. I have seen multiple people who've complained to you with the same issue. This is what I have done.


Laptop on internet working
Tried to install mcafee antivirus
Uninstalled avg antivirus
Internet working but still can't download mcafee
Uninstall avg tuneup
Internet browser error but still showing connected
Start menu typed avg, reinstalled
No internet
Uninstalled avg no internet
System recovery avg reinstalled twice
No Internet

Michael, could you run clear tool on your PC to make sure AVG is completely removed?

Michael, please check if you have another antivirus or firewall software installed on your PC.
Do you have any other AVG apps installed on your PC?

Hello Michael, 

Can you please confirm what are all the browsers installed on the PC? Have you tried to reset Browser and check the status? If not, please try to reset and check it.

Michael, if you are using a wired internet connection, could you disconnect and reconnect?
If it is a wireless connection, could you try wired connection and check the status?

I've tried rebooting in safe mode with network and it doesn't work either

The laptop is connected to the internet but the brower says there's no internet connection. It's not a problem with the wireless internet connection. We've got 3 mobiles and two other laptops in the house, which connect without a problem, the only one that won't is this one that had AVG antivirus on it and when I uninstalled it I lost the internet access
