The problem fixed itself somehow but I have done what you have said anyway so hopefully won't happen again. Thanks for your help.
So the same problem happened again and I did the solution you said but now it is coming up with an error message. 'Firewall cannot start, because an error has occurred in communication with a driver. Please contact AVG technical support.' The driver you told me to uninstall has not reinstalled and my internet is still only loading Google pages. I have restarted at least 5 times and tried to disable AVG but it hasn't worked. Also tried to uninstall AVG but it won't load the uninstall software so can't repair it that way.
Your support team managed to fix the problem caused by that solution that you give me but now I'm back to having the original issue.
I have been having this problem where my Internet will just randomly stop working and I find out everytime that avg has done an update without notifying me before hand. It still shows that I am connected to the WiFi and all other devices work on the WiFi. I am able to load any Google website but all others just continuously try to load. I have tried a lot of things to fix this problem but nothing seems to work. Previously the issue fixed itself after a combination of restarting my laptop lots of times and disabling avg but it's happening more and more often now. Also everytime I restart when the problem happens avg does another update without telling me. I am using avg protection unlimited on a Windows 10 laptop.
This was the solution you gave me before which caused a lot more problems.
Hello Andrew,
We regret for the inconvenience caused. We would request you to follow the below steps to reinstall your AVG network filter to get issue fixed.
-Disable AVG Self Protection.
- Go to Control Panel -> Network Connections -> right click on the network area which is active -> "Properties"
- If there is "AVG Network filter driver" uninstall it and restart the computer twice
- AVG Firewall initializes auto-repair function so "AVG Network filter driver" should be automatically installed (therefore two restarts are needed)
Feel free to contact us for further assistance.
Thank you.
