Hello Graham,
We regret for the inconvenience caused. We keep you informed that the issue which you are currently expriencing is know bug and our devolpers are working hard to fix it. No need to worry, the issue will fixed automatically in future updates.
Note: It will not affect your installation. If you haven't installed your product, please try to install your AVG Internet Security. We would request you to remove previously installed AVG program traces from your system using AVG Remover tool and then try to reinstall AVG Internet Security.
Note:If you have installed any other Antivirus  programs like AVAST, NORTON, MCAFEE or KASPERSKY, Please uninstall it first to avoid conflicts when installing AVG.
Once you have uninstalled from your system,try to follow the steps which mentioned below.
Remover and Download:

Hi, Tried to run a scan last week but found the scan failed to progress and could not pause or stop it.  Having restarted the PC the AVG dashboard shows status 'Scanning' but it's not. Thought would re-install via my account but find this facility no longer available even though my product licence is up to Oct17.  Can anyone advise please?
