Hi Lisa,
We regret the inconvenience caused, Please follow the below instructions to get the Link scanner updated.
1.Go to Start -> Control Panel.
Note: Click Settings first if Control Panel is not available in the Start menu.
2.Open (Programs) -> Programs and Features, or Add or Remove Programs.
3.Select "AVG Protection" in the list of programs.
4.Click the Change or Change/Remove button.
5.Select Repair.
6.Follow the instructions on your screen to complete the installation.
7.Restart your computer

I just purchased and downloaded 2016/12/29 on-line and encountering problem.  Warning, in red!  Web! 'Update Required', You are not fully protected! Web: LinkScanner database is outdated.  When I select "fix now" it does a virus update then indicates it was successful and my computer is fully protected, however, am still getting the warning.  Not sure how to resolve.

I had the same problem on my pc and following thew above advice it now seems to be OK. But I cant install the firewall on my laptop. I get a message saying "An unknown issue has prevented Internet Security from installing" An error code 0xe001d026 shows. Have tried downloading several times with no luck. Very frustrating
