If you suspect that AVG is causing the issue, please disable AVG protection temporarily to check.
Alternately, you can disconnect AVG Secure VPN, if you're connected through it to internet & check once.
I was installing TurboTax. The security popup said a file to be installed needed attention. I checked the file and it was listed as "dangerous" so I clicked "deny". Turns out that file is necessary to connect Turbo to internet. I uninstalled TurboTax and then reinstalled. The security popup did not occurr; however, Turbo says I am not connected to internet. I am so that is not the problem. I am assuming the internet security keeps denying the program without asking now. Is there a way I can get the file "undenyed" so I can use the TurboTax program?

I have disconnect AVG Secure VPN, but unclear how to "disable AVG protection temporily". the following is the screen shot of the blocked log.
Thank you for sharing us the screenshot, Gayle.
Please click on 'Apps' tab in the firewall settings (in screenshot) & then check if Turbo Tax is blocked. If so, you can click on 'Unblock' beside it to check if it helps.
Regarding AVG protection, you can right click on AVG icon in system tray (near date & time, at bottom right corner) after closing the program. A window will pop up at bottom right corner, in which you can click on toggle bar beside protection to disable.
