It might be because of windows updates, any third party conflict or AVG virus definitions unable to update. Please let us know which version of AVG program you have installed on your computer, if possible please share a screenshot of the AVG user interface page to assist you further. I am receiving the message "You are not Protected"  "Computer Protection Turned Off" 
Question:  How did it get turned off   and   How do I get it turned back on??
