Hi Mary,
I understand this must be upsetting. I will help to fix it.
I suggest you to change the firewall network profile from "Public" to "Private" and check if that fixes the issue. To change this settings, please open the AVG Internet Security and click on Menu>Settings>Components>Firewall>Customize>Network profile.

Also, please Enable all the System Rules under Menu>Settings>Components>Firewall>Customize>Policies.

I find that after the upgrade of Windows 10 AVG is now blocking my access to the Times website.  It's www.thetimes.co.uk.  I know this is an OK site and I wonder if anyone can tell me how to unblock it?  Many thanks

If the above steps doesn't resolve the issue, I suggest you to add the URL to exceptions and also Submit the URL for Whitelisting.
