Internet stopped working after AVG Update

I suppose an update happened today because when I came in to use my desktop computer the AVG screen was up and looked different. I X'ed it out, then I tried to get on the internet and nothing would open. The internet connection is there just nothing opens. This is also happening on my laptop which also has the paid AVG Internet Security. I am using Windows 10 on both computers. I still have internet service on my Chromebook and iPhone but neither of them have AVG on them so I know it's not my internet connection it has something to do with the AVG on the computers…probably from the update. What do I need to do?..Uninstall AVG on both computers?

Thank you for your reply. This morning when I awoke I had no internet connection at all on both the desktop and the laptop. I did have service on the Chrome book and the iPhone. Then all of a sudden service appeared on my laptop but not on the desktop. Microsoft error message came up on the desktop that the DNS server was not responding…which was strange. The fix you suggested I could not perform because the AVG internet Security wouldn't open so there was no menu to open…etc. So I disconnected the internet plugs and rebooted the computer and guess what?..it all came back. I have a funny feeling that over night AVG sent a fix because a lot of people were complaining. It's just funny that it automatically started working again. Yesterday I unplugged my internet and rebooted and did all those things and still had no internet. But it's working for now…so  Thanks

I am sorry to hear that you are unable to connect to internet after an AVG update. It seems that the AVG program got updated to the latest version in your computer. Please follow the below steps and check if that fix the issue.

Please open the AVG Internet Security installed in your computer and click on Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->Once this is done, click on "Network Profile(Left side of the interface) and change the profile to "Private" if selected in "Public". Click on OK and check if you are able to access internet. If you face any difficulties, feel free to contact us.
