I completely understand your concern. The issue might be because of old/previous AVG traces, as you have resolved this issues by removing old traces using AVG Clear tool and did a fresh installation of AVG protection. I see that the "Invalid File Signature" message has been experienced by several people. I have two computers running and they both gave me this message. I resolved it by following instructions here, using the remover and clear tools but I would suggest that it is too much of a coincidence that I had this problem on two computers at the same time.
If this was some issue with the AVG update server will people who have had this problem have to resort to removing and re installing the program or will AVG eventually fix this issue automatically?
