Invalid ip causes no internet

Of course I have redacted (blurred) name of private network in all images to prevent any suspicion falling some place else… no good complicating this anymore than it is.

Hi, Marcus.

We've checked with our senior team and would like to get some info to analyze the root cause of the issue.

Would you be so kind and confirm the below things:
1. Are you using the same network for both of your devices and experiencing this issue?
2. Geographical location

Awaiting your reply!!

The service has now been uninstalled and resitalled per the instruction sent.

Now monitoring ... if it has another seizure I will update here.

Thanks for your help in davnace ... R3M

My DNS server kept dropping out and I started getting pop up notifications saying my network connection wasn't trusted - This explains why I've had to constantly perform diagnostics and often have to reboot my computer to regain access. I blamed my ISP but its AVG that's causing the problems I wasn't able to get a screen shot the pop ups disappeared too quickly I did manage to photograph it but your upload system says it's too big to insert here. It's cost me a fortune and I can't count the times I've uninstalled and reinstalled it and had several remote access with tech support The last one destroyed my OS when he restarted my computer after uninstalling the programme yet again. I had to have a full rinstall and lost everything I wouldn't mind but I understand the VPN doesn't belong to AVG but one of 6 companies

Hello Marcus,

We'd be glad to to help.
AVG Secure VPN will hide your original IP address preventing your online activity. This doesn't cause any such errors you mentioned. 'Invalid IP' error indicates a problem with your computer's network setup.
We will need to analyze the issue further. If you provide us with the screenshot of the error message, we will be able to get a clarity and assist further.
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on "Answer" & then click on the "Image" [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

Now around 2 whole weeks. You guys even updated features in your product but can't seem to sort out this issue or a fix would have been forthcoimg in the recent update. Disappointing service. IAnd I would riminder Technicians that I am not going to jump through hoops (switching ISP) to see if that resolves the issue…that is dumb, really, to do what you have asked would mean severing ties with one and paying to change ISP over to a new provider. I don't know what planent you're on or what you're smoking but downhere in Aussieland you can't jjust switch ISP's willy nilly IT COSTS $$$$'S…I would never think to even connect to a freebie…ARE YOU NUTZ???

No new results...have been monitoring since reinstall and still experiencing issues with VPN drop outs. I am however 95% certian that it has more to do with ISP than AVG Products. I suggest that AVG think about modifying the VPN to prevent ISP from turning it off. How do I know this ...well I know the Registry System in my machines like the back of my hand and I don't like it when an ISP hides that fact that there protocals include spying techniques and leave behind registry entries when they do. This does not happen in any other country I know of except Australia and I note that my ISP is in compliance with the amended Telecommunications Act which names my ISP as an "authorised agent" for the purpose of providing information to certain authorites including the type of internet security used along with a VNP and other stuff reltaing to OS and Applications used by the owner/operator of the OS.

So...be aware...governments like Australia (including Canada, UK, USA, NZ) where this has now begun will all be affected with no virtaul private networks and no encrypted tdata transfers.

Wake up AVG!! ...because the government of Australia is undermining your software, rendering Internet Security and VPN along with Password Protect useless for a law abiding person/operator in favor of attempting to catch criminals which is at the expense of those who are law abiding. There are crooks inside Telecommunications Service Providers ...do you think they are all good people in those "agencies" who would not break the law to steal from a bank account, steal passwords.. etc? WAKE UP!!

AVG: PLEASE don't allow the Australian Government's "authorised agencies" such as ISPs to undermine your products!!!

INVALID IP WHEN USING AVG VPN and AVG INTERNET SECURITY

I use a TP-Link to access the internet on my PC via a Telco supplied Gateway/Router. The PC which runs both AVG Internet Security and AVG VPN (Virtual Private Network) on the Windows 10 Platform.

I oftern find that my connection is lost and I am forced to have to use Windows Diagnostic tools to rectify the issue several time per day.

I suspect the "invalid IP" relates to either the Firewall or the VPN programs error in design when pointing to one or multiple IP addresses assigned to the network but that the Telco may be blocking Blacklisted IPs which may be listed as White by AVG VPN algorithms called from the main database. Is this a flaw in AVG program/product?

I have 2 x screenshot images to show what I see at my end but I am not able to upload in this editor session. Can you grant me permission to upload in here instead of using a URL to point?

The service has now been uninstalled and resitalled per the instruction sent.

Now monitoring ... if it has another seizure I will update here.

Thanks for your help in davnace ... R3M

My appologies…I meant that there is no valid IP configuration as the error found by Win10 Diagnotics.

An email has been replied to.

Thank you

Marcus, we understand your concern.

Yes, by network, we meant about your ISP.

I have sent you an email, please reply to that email with the requested information.

Liz, we have replied to your post in ticket number 08323504

Marcus, we regret for the inconvenience caused.

We have escalated the case to our senior team. We will get back to you, once we get a reply from them.

Your patience is appreciated.

1. Are you using the same network for both of your devices and experiencing this issue?

Answer:1 Please clarify what is meant by "same network", do you mean my ISP's Network.

2. Geographical location

Answer 2. I prefer not to give out my geolocation publicy...would you?

Again, I have had to manually reconnect the VPN several times in the past 24 hours, this is unacceptible. Also, I note that when rebooting my PC that AVG VPN does not connect automatically when Windows starts as it should do beacsue that option is checked in the software dialog.

3 DAYS and NOT a word from AVG. What's wrong with this picture?

Have I not provided all relevent information required escalate this case to the correct level by and through which a solution can be work out?

Karthikeyan …"check if ISP is causing this issue" I can run DNS tools to determine the problem at the ISP server end (done this and found stuff people shouldn't know about  … so, I can check pretty much everything >>>> Is there anything in particualr I should look for?

Thank you for providing requested information via email.

We'd request to uninstall AVG Secure VPN and re install it once to resolve the issue.
