Is an AVG update notification valid?

Or if you could post a screenshot of the popup then that would be even better - http://www.avg.com/gb-en/faq.num-2243.

Hello, I have just visited https://freeapp.avg.com and it takes me to the official AVG website. If you could tell me the wording of the popup then I should be able to help you further with this issue.

Thanks :).

I have the same problem. I'm tunning the italian version of AVG Free 2015 (Windows 7 Pro and Home). Every day the stupid nagging windows pops up with this message: "you need to upgrade your AVG Antivirus  FREE" . Now not only this message is naggy and tiresome, but also misleading for users as it states the upgrade is needed, while , of course, it is not. Then users are taken to the site and invited to download the non free version. It is just a subtle way to try and get money from unaware users!
So please can someone tell me how to disable this message please?
Thank you

Thank you Matthew. I went ahead and clicked 'Update Now', and it installed ok and everything seems fine. I appreciate your responses. I've been using AVG on my PC & smartphone for years and am very pleased with it, and have never had a virus/malware problem. Best regards, JH

I have AVG2015 FREE, ver 2015.0.5645 on my PC running windows 7 professional. Within the last week I have been getting popups saying I need to update my "AVG AntiVirus FREE", and to click the button 'Update Now'. When I hover the cursor over a link in the window to "learn more about this issue", it shows a URL that starts with https://freeapp.avg.com/…    Is this legitimate, and if not, how can I prevent this popup? Thank you for any information on this.
