David, as you have found, AVG isn't nearly as effective against PUPs as Malwarebytes. You can make it somewhat more effective by selecting "Report enhanced set of potentially unwanted programs" for both Whole Computer Scan and Computer Protection.

Is AVG configured to detect PUP files? If not, what do I do to add those files to my scans? I recently discovered Vosteran/Better Brain files (700+ of them) on my system but it had not executed (maybe because I use Sandboxie, no idea really). These files turned up in a Malwarebytes scan which I run periodically. (The files are gone now.) I run AVG nightly and there was no mention of these files being on my computer. I do NOT use the AVG firewall. See next question.
