Is it necessary to have AVG Internet Security running and minimised on the desktop

We understand that you wish to know if you need to minimize AVG Internet Security on desktop.
To fully protect your device, AVG Internet Security needs to run in the background at all times (It shows in system tray in desktop) and this does not mean you have to open the AVG Application and keep it minimized all the time. 
The AVG Internet Security runs in background even when you close the application.
