I think I figured it out. Two days ago AVG updated itself. When asked to restart the computer I postponed the operation (something I never do) and without further reminders from AVG, forgot to reboot – I hibernate the machine when I'm not going to be using it for a while. I thought I'd try a reboot instead of reinstalling AVG as sometimes that fixes things, and got lucky. I received the 'Update Successful' notice and knew that was the issue. Shell and scheduled scans work properly now. The fault was mine. Cheers.
Greetings,
I'm using AVG Antivirus Free 2015.0.5941 on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.
For two days now hen I right click to initiate a shell extension scan on any file or directory I instantly get: 'Shell Extention Scan Finished. No threats detected.'
I'm seeing AVG's smaller pop up window near the tray, then the main interface showing the scan summary, 'No Threats Found.'
In 'Reports' if I click on 'Details' in the main window it now always shows zero results under 'Stats' 'number of items.'
I enabled to scan all files not just infectable files and get the same results.
What could be wrong?
