The print function on my new PC works as intended, but the scan function on my printer/copier is unable to connect to the PC; everything else is working well. Could my firewall be blocking this connection? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, updated all drivers, and replaced the USB connector.
The PC is a Dell 3880 Inspiron running Windows 11; the printer is a Brother MFC-490CW.
Hi Jim,
We're glad to look into this & help you.
Sometimes, this might happen if few firewall settings are not modified.
Please follow the steps in this article to enable 1st two options in basic rules (Allow windows file & printer sharing, remote desktop connections).
Additionally, you can also enable 'Internet connection sharing mode' in firewall settings to check if it helps.
