Hi, I am have an issue with the latest update of AVG Free 2017 (Version 17.3.3.443.0)
I am running Windows 7 (x64) and installed AVG Free (not internet security trial)
Since the big update to 2017, my laptop freezes and AVG is causing it to become so slow it cannot perform basic tasks. I uninstalled everything to do with AVG and did a complete reinstall of the Avg Free. Same problem has happened and I cannot access any settings or scan options because it says my Internet trial has ended and I cannot get rid of the 'Buy Now' screen. Since I didn't install the trial, I shouldn't be getting this message. I ensured it was the completely free version with no trial that was installed. I cannot access the AVG Free settings in Zen as it just blocks the screen with 'Buy Now'.
It really is a pain to reinstall this constantly as it is very time consuming.
I think AVG need to release a fix for this as it is very annoying and frustrating to have to reinstall the free version over and over, just to be restricted access to the software and being told to buy the product; this isn't the definition of "free".
Any helpful advice which isn't just reinstalling it again? Anyone know of a way of using a free license number, like in previous versions?
I completely preferred the previous version of AVG Free before this big release, the new one is awful and terribly designed. I've been an AVG user for over 10 years, considering switching to another AV because of this problem. Any suggestions on an alternative if AVG continues to force users to buy their "free" product?
Thanks!
