Issues after reinstalling AVG Ultimate

Hi Miles,

We will certainly help you resolve the issue with AVG Internet Security.
1) Please provide us the version of your AVG Internet Security and also share us the screenshot of the error which you are receiving while scanning the files with AVG. You can follow the below steps to locate the version number.
Open AVG Internet Security –> Click Menu –> About –> Version number.

2)Regarding the issue AVG Clear, please change system configuration settings and check for the issue again.
Press the Win+R keys to open the Run dialog box.
Type msconfig, and click/tap on OK to open System Configuration.
Click StartUp tab and locate AVG Clear in it. Right click AVG Clear and remove/delete it.

Three issues:
1)  After renewing my license, I uninstalled an older version of this, and ran AVG Clear when it had a problem getting rid of some leftover files.  After the new installation, whenever I restart my PC, I have to manually click on AVG Internet Security, or else if I were to, for example, right click on a file and hit "check for threats with AVG", I get an error message saying it can't do it because "AVG UI has not initialized".

2) After running AVG Clear, every time I reboot my PC, it asks me which operating system to start with, Windows 10 or the AVG Clear utility.  I can't seem to stop that from happening.

3) If I try to use a service like Hamachi or Parsec, AVG Firewall's settings are defaulting the network created to "Public", and I have to manually set it to "Private" to get it to work properly.  This happens now every time I try to use a service like Hamachi now, and it didn't before.  I also can't get AVG to accept my re-labeling of it, either, always defaulting to the name "Unidentified Network".

Thank you for the screenshot, Miles.
It seems that there is some issue in AVG service to run on your PC.
To fix this, we have to remove all traces of AVG including tuneup and then perform a clean installation.
Let us first fix the AVG Clear tool appearing on boot window.
Please follow the instructions provided by Bharath and when you are in 'System Configuration' window, click on "Boot" tab instead of "startup".
If you see AVG clear mentioned on it, select and click on "Delete" or 'Remove" option.
Restart the computer and you shouldn't get the AVG clear tool in boot menu.
To perform the re-installation process, we have sent an email with the steps to get connected with our additional support.
If the email is not found in inbox do check in spam and junk folders.

Also please note in that screenshot that AVG Tune Up has loaded up properly upon PC restart and the icon is in the system tray, but the AVG Security icon is NOT there.

3)Normally VPN connection uses fake IP address to hide your computer network. The fake IP address changes everytime when you restart the VPN service.
AVG Internet Security will detect the fake IP network as an unidentified network and blocks it. When you restart the VPN service again, a new IP address will be created and it will be blocked by AVG again. This is an expected behaviour.

Version is: 19.8.3108 (build 19.8.4793.544)
