Also please confirm whether you get any error messages while sending an email if AVG Secure VPN is enabled. If yes, please send us the screenshot of that error message. We will check and help you further.

I use MS Outlook. for email. Spectrum is my internet provider.
I tried to copy and paste screenshot in here and it didn't work. It says "send/receive error" and leaves the messages in my Outbox until I shut off AVG Secure VPN.
It doesn't matter what city I choose on the list of options for secure VPN. I've most often used Miami and Washington, D.C., but Washington was not my choice, it was AVG's choice. It changes on its own.

Please change the SMTP settings in your Microsoft Outlook as mentioned in this article & check if the issue persists.

My email account will not allow me to change to SSL/TLS encryption method. It's already in port 587. The encryption method is STARTTLS and it will not save the change. Another solution?
