Issues with VPN

I have subscribed to AVG VPN for nearly 2 years now. I have always had issues when trying to send an email and have had to turn it off to do so - otherwise things have worked okay. However for the last month to 6 weeks, my internet connection has started slowing down to the point of being unusable. In some cases it will not connect at all when the VPN is on. I know it is the VPN because as soon as I turn it off everything works perfectly. There is no point having this product if the computer then cannot be effectively used and I note that others have had the same problem so can you please provide a solution. I did attempt to change the location but I am in Australia and the only option is Melbourne. Has something changed recently that would cause this? Your help would be appreciated. Thank you.

That is the answwer? My connection is not just slower - it is unusable as I stated. This sounds like a rote answer that does help me at all. Safer? No point if the internet won't connect at all. Can you please provide a real answer that addresses my query or I will be cancelling my subscription.

Regarding unstable network, I suggest you to change to different optimal location by following the steps below and monitor if you experience the same.

1. Double-click the AVG Secure VPN icon on your desktop to open the application.
2. Click Change location and select a location from the list. If you skip this step, you are automatically connected to the Optimal location.
