We would request you to run AVG remover tool to check whether you could find any traces of the AVG program.
Please click this link http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe to download and run the AVG Remover tool.
1. Please select the AVG products which are shown in the remover tool window and then start removal process.
2. After the remover tool process is successfully finished, restart your computer.
3. After the restart, manually delete the AVG Remover folder in the C drive of My computer.
If you couldn't find any installation it clearly shows that there are no traces of the AVG program on your PC.
Well I did as per instructed…and I restarted my PC when it was finished. I also would like to inform you that "I DID INDEED FIND TRACES OF YOUR AVG"…Actually what I found were 2 folders in the App/Data/Roaming that clearly had your AVG items in there. I'm with the utmost pleasure to inform you that my PC no longer has any signs of your AVG product lingering anywhere in my PC any longer. So the next time you want to brush off somebody that you may think they know nothing at all…Always remember your bedside manner and it's always better to offer any help to someone than it is to not offer any at all…I'd hate to be that Dr. on call if you should ever end up in an ER and I tell you you have "such n such" when you don't have anything wrong at all. I'm sure you get my point.

Doe, You checked in the correct place and thank you for the information. It seems there are no AVG programs installed and it is not due to AVG you lost your files. Try to remove those files in your D drive. Do you notice any abnormal behavior or your web browsers like redirecting and unknown pop ups while browsing? If you have any other anti virus installed, please run a whole computer scan with it and contact their support for any further assistance. Thank you.

Hello Doe, It seems that the syntax tags you have provided might be the system files or certain files related to the other programs. Since you couldn't find the traces of the AVG program on your the issue might be related with other programs installed on your PC. Please feel free to contact us for further assistance.
Excuse me? You've lost me somewhere in here. I clearly see "AVG" listed here…how it got there I have no clue nor do I have a clue on how to get rid of all of "THESE" that say this or have "AVG" included somewhere in there too. So dropping me like a piece of crap is uncalled for and I clearly don't deserve this at all.
We request you to go to installed programs list in control panel and check if you see any AVG programs in the list.
Hi Avinash…not sure what you meant by "installed programs list" but I went into the "programs & features" in the control panel and there's nothing in there listed for AVG. Now if that isn't the right place please let me know.
I apologize first off for having to bring up this Old topic and upsetting anyone by doing so…BUT…Let me begin by saying that I don't have any part of AVG installed on this PC and I haven't had any AVG on this PC in probably close to 8-10 yrs I want to say. I had help with someone from Malwarebytes remove everything from AVG on this PC and after that with all the scans we knew it was gone.
But just this past weekend I noticed that I had a few items on my desktop that weren't showing up correctly anymore and when I clicked on them it was nothing but codes like. Of course I freaked out…thinking wtf is this? My meds list is now totally messed up and gone and even when I opened up my adobe reader where it was saved because it was a pdf file…there was nothing there. Then I checked a few of my other very important folders on my desktop that now look empty and those too were coded…again all pdf files. Now I'm really freaking out because I need all those folders on my desktop as their very important stuff in there I need for personal reasons. So the next thing I do I go and click on my Computer figuring I'll look in my C drive for whatever…but once I opened my Computer I was in complete shock and got totally nervous because my D drive which normally has nothing in it…is now almost full and has 3 files…and I know you already know which 3 they are but I have to say them anyways…
$AVG Recovery HP_WSD.dat
Yes I opened the top 2 and I have no clue of anything. I believe the Recovery folder was empty. I did nothing with the last one. I'm sure now I have a virus and again because I haven't had any part of AVG on this PC in many yrs. now I don't know how this happened.
How can I recover my desktop folder items? And how I get rid of this now if I'm infected?
Again I apologize for bringing this Old topic up and making anyone angry…it's not my intention…I just need some help to rid it and recover my items.
