Hi John,
We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused. Could you please tell us the version of your MacBook OS? Also let us know the AVG version you are using in your computer.
Please share us the screenshot of the threat pop up, it would help us to check and resolve the issue.
(To take a screenshot in MAC, please follow the below instructions : 1. To capture the entire screen, press Command-Shift-3. The screen shot will be automatically saved as a PNG file on your desktop with the filename starting with “Picture” followed by a number, example Picture 1, Picture 2, and so on.
2. To copy the entire screen, press Command-Control-Shift-3. The screen shot will be placed on your clipboard for you to paste into another program like PowerPoint, Word, Photoshop, etc.)
Thank you
Just throwing my hat into the ring as another 'victim' of the JS:Nimbda-B threat. Can't quarantine and can't delete. Looking forward to some updates from AVG about what's going on.
Cache cleared as suggested. This did not solve the problem. AVG still reporting JS:Nimbda-B threat.

Hello John,
Thank you for the screen shots.
We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused.
Its a malicious JavaScript, which found in browser cache. It was probably found on some site we visited, and was already running in the browser, leaving your Mac no worse for it. It may have done something like display a scam pop-up or something similar, or may have attempted to infect the machine via Windows vulnerabilities (which would not work on your Mac). We can safely ignore this. Please clear your browsers caches, that should fix the issue. Use the link to refer how to remove the caches : https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7901091? start=0&tstart=0 and https://support.apple.com/kb/PH21491?locale=en_US
Please, feel free to let us know if you require any further assistance.
Thank you.
