Keep getting popup saying a threat has been blocked JS:Agent-DML [Trj]

Hi again,

I have tested Safari and Firefox. The Threat Detection only occurs when using Safari. I have several Extentions installed with Safari. I have turned all of these off but still get the Threat Detection.

Thank you for the screenshot.
Are you using the latest 18.2 version of AVG Antivirus in Mac?

Neil,
Sorry for the inconvenience, let us know whether you are receiving this detection message on your Windows device or MAC OS.
Have you submitted the sample for analysis? If not, use this link :  https://www.virustotal.com/#/home/upload to submit it.

Hi,
I am running AVG Antivirus free on a Mac.

The popup I’m getting is not from a virus but from AVG Webshield saying it has blocked a java script from a website I’m not currently visiting. No matter what website I visit I get the same AVG warning (screen grab attached).

Hi, Neil.

The detected website does not seem to work and we weren't able to induce the pop up from our end. Are you still receiving this threat detection pop up? I'd also request you to use a different web browser and check if you receive the pop ups.

I keep getting a pop-up window that says "We've safely blocked the threat JS:Agent-DML [Trj].

From what I have looked up this is a bug in AVG Antivirus. Is there a way to stop this?

Cheers,
NH.

I installed the latest version (v. 18.2 (99c8aa549be2) and the Threat Detection is still happening.

Neil,
I appreciate your efforts. We have fixed this detection issue recently, could you update your AVG Antivirus and check if the issue persists or not?

Yes, v 18.2 (99c8aa549be2)

The "blocked" website is always the same. One which I have never, to my knowledge, been to.

Thank you for the information.
In this case, it is necessary for us to analyse the log files of AVG to identify the root cause of the issue.
Hence, sent an email instruction on how to collect and send us the log files.
While sending the information, do mention the Mac version in the email.
