I would if I could. I deleted what I had and reinstalled AVG through Ninite and do not have the problem now. I would be certain that other also have that problem and can getyou a screen shot.
What had happened was that when I clicked on the AVG icon it did not have any scan options. It just had something my trial version is over with an option to "Buy now".
I had the free AVG. Now I cannot use it. It only asks me to buy the paid version. I only need the free one. How can I get back to it?

Eric, I am happy to hear that your issue is resolved.
This might have caused, if AVG free installed on your computer might have got updated to free trial version.
Once the trial version got over, it displayed the expired message.
Reinstalling AVG will fix this issue.
