This is not the normal behavior of the AVG Secure VPN
In this case, I request you uninstall and reinstall the AVG Secure VPN.

My VPN shuts down when I shut off the computer (and maybe sometimes when the computer is still running).  Is this normal, or has someone figured out how to do this to get data from me?

I never noticed this until several weeks ago - it's a big inconvenience.
