Killing Processes

Hello Michael.  Identity Protection, Online Shield, E-Mail scanner, Watchdog, Resident shield are the components of AVG that are responsible for your computer security. If you feel they are consuming more memory than usual, I would request you to uninstall AVG and re install your AVG once.

So I hate stuff running in the background. Comes from playing with computers back when you discussed memory in Megs instead of Gigs. I recently talked to a rep about how to keep AVG from booting on startup. Very nice and did a remote connect to fix that. However, as a result it refused to scan anything when I booted it from the desktop. I gave in and reinstalled it.

All the intrusive garbage is SUPPOSEDLY turned off, yet their processes are still running when I look at task manager. Identity Protection, Online Shield, E-Mail scanner, Watchdog, Resident shield.

And to really tweak me, it will not allow me to close any of them.

1) Is there anyway to actually get rid of all this extra junk and have a functional virus scanner?
2) Why is there no way to shut the program down now like there used to be. This Temp Disable c**p doesnt do anything for the memory it sucks.
