Laplink blocked by AVG

Hi Santhosh,
Thanks for the response.  Unfortunately I get the same 'Connection Failed' 'Unable to connect to the remote device' – this is even when I am using Lap connect the computer to itself.  So it is both source and sink of the information,
  Ian

Hi Ian,

We are sorry to hear this.

We will help you to resolve the issue.

We have to configure the firewall in order to resolve the issue.

Please follow the below steps and configure the firewall:

Open AVG -> Settings ->Full protection -> Enhanced Firewall -> check the option "Internet connection sharing mode"

Once you configured the firewall, please check for the issue again.

I am trying to use LapLink which allows directories on local or remote machines to be paralleled and if necessary updated. So the software makes a secure connection between folders then runs an on the fly compare and makes any required updates to files.
However, as soon as AVG Internet Security is installed LapLink ceases to work and reports unable to connect.  I have tried adding LapLink as an exception for web defenses - but with AVG LapLink will not connect not even to a drive on the local machine.
Has anyone any ideas on what is needed to be done to stop AVG interfering with LapLink?

Appreciate your efforts in working towards fixing the issue, Ian. Let us attempt to modify other Firewall settings to check.
Open AVG - Menu - Settings - Full protection - Enhanced firewall - System rules - Enable 'Allow windows file & printer sharing, remote desktop connections'
If issue persists, try to change the network profile either from private to public or from public to private & let us know if it helps.
