Could you let us know how did they confirm AVG Secure VPN is causing the issue?
Is the issue resolved when you turn off the VPN connection?
If it does, click 'Change location', choose a different location than the previous one and verify the issue.

Please let me know why I can't get internet service on my laptop computer?  The AT&T service said it was because of the AVG vpn on my device.
