Hello Jual.
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Could you try starting your PC in safe mode, uninstall AVG TuneUp and try starting in normal mode?
Hi,
The system won’t even recognise Windows now. I’ve just spoken with Dell Support and they tell me that the only thing left to do is a complete OS install, meaning that I will lose everything on the system - programs and documents. How can your products, which are meant to keep everything running smoothly have such a catastrophic effect?
Hi,
AVG flagged up that my disk may be corrupted and recommended performing a repair. I clicked OK and quite quickly the machine shut down and attempted to restart. The notification says, ‘Your PC did not start correctly’. I’ve tried restarting and I’ve tried shutting down and rebooting from cold - whatever I do, I keep getting the same notification. My machine is a Dell XPS 15.
I want to try and avoid reinstalling Windows 10Pro if I can, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Jual, please accept our apologies if an AVG product did not meet your expectations.
Unfortunately, we cannot perform any root cause analysis to determine the reason for this.
It could also be possible that there is a bad sector on your hard disk which caused this issue.
Before proceeding with the OS reinstall, we'd request you to use the original Windows installation disc and try to repair or restore PC settings.
