I understand how difficult this is for you. Please let me know if you have enabled AVG scheduled scan. If it is, please check in "Scheduled Scan" settings if "Shut Down after scan finishes" is enabled. If so, please disable this option and check if that fix the issue.
To check this open AVG Internet Security->Click on settings icon next to "Scan computer"-> Schedule Scan->Check if shut down is enabled.
Also let us know if any threat is detected while running AVG scan, which may prompt the computer to restart to fix the issue.

Since recent computer scan by AVG my Asus laptop turns itself off and on by itself. I paid $186 for some problem to be fixed but this new problem is much worse.
