Last Computer scan

Ron,

Sorry for the inconvenience, we need to check and analyze the exact cause. Could you share your email address with first letter, last letter with email domain? e.g: axxxxxxb@emaildomain.com
Hello Ron,
Please accept my apologies with regards to the AVG software not living up to your expectations. I would also like to inform you that "Last Scan" will get updated only if you run a scan by clicking on "Scan computer" on main interface and not for any other scans like Schedules scan, deep scan and file or folder scan.
Your computer should be power up/turn on at the time of schedule scan to perform the schedule scan task. (Please check if you have set up AVG schedule scan and also check if AVG schedule scan start automatically at the scheduled time). You can also check the AVG schedule scan reports from the same location after it's scan.
Regarding "Last Scan" should change after all scan: I request you to submit a product feedback, open AVG protection > menu > about > submit feedback. It will reach to our development team, they will defiantly look into your suggestions.
Best regards,
Alok.
Ron, you can generate reports for the scheduled scan from the schedules scan settings by clicking on 'Settings'.

Hi    (11:40 am Eastern Standard Time)

I did everything you told me to do and it still shows me that the Last Computer Scan was done 2 days ago (it should of showed about 6 hours ago(I set the scheduled scan for 5am EST)..aparently it's going by the manual last computer scan...

Sanford

Hi Linda

Apparently if you run" Scan Computer manually" the Last Computer scan message will work…if u use a "Scheuled Scan" there is a gear icon next to "Scan Computer" on the main page…look for a magnifying glass on this gear sfter "Schedule Scan" and click on it…it should show u ur "Scheduled Scan Name" and the results…

Sanford

Hi

I listed a problem with "Last Computer Scan" about a week ago ,I got an answer from AVG telling me to go to "Repair"…It didn't work…they told me to wait for the next Update…I downloaded the update and everything was fine for a couple of days the it happened all over again…I can"t tell if my" Schedule Scan" is working because "Last Computer Scan" says the same time everyday…

Sanford

Seamus and Steve,

We regret the inconvenience caused, I appreciate your efforts in trying to fix the issue.

I would like to inform you that the Last Scan Status will change only when you run a Manual Scan by clicking on Scan Computer in the AVG User Interface. Schedules Scans or other manually initiated scans won't change the status of the Last Scan.

Yes, our developer's have fixed this bug on latest version 18.1.3044. To check with Sceduled scan, open AVG Internet Security -> Settings icon next to Scan computer -> it will display all the scheduled scans and you will see a green/ orange mark on it to view the scheduled scan results. We are here if you need further help.

Ron, you can generate reports for the scheduled scan from the schedules scan settings by clicking on 'Settings'.

 Hi Akash

Thank you...your reply is the correct one...I did manual scan and everything works fine..

Sanford
Sanford,
Sorry for providing incorrect information in one of the post. Please be informed that last scan status in AVG latest version will update the scans that are ran via AVG window by clicking on 'Scan computer' icon.

As I addressed in my previous message:  In the post on this page of Feb 17, 2018, Alok Kumar (AVG Technologies) said: "Regarding AVG Schedule scan reports: You can open AVG user interface on your desktop, and click the gear icon next to Scan Computer > Select Schedule Scan> report files."

What if no reports show?   I do not see any.  Either the method described to search for reports is incorrect OR the scheduled scan did not run – which it has not for months.
Why don't you just send this to your development team since many customers are complaining about it and none of your suggestions are solving this AVG problem?

AVG said this bug was supposed to be fixed in the most recent update?  It wasn't.  Can someone please let us know why the developers did not fix this?

AVG always showed when the last scan was run (even for Boottime and Deep Scans).  For some reason, AVG programmers either fooled something up, or made a stupid change back in February.  I did post about it in a different thread at the time and was told that it would be fixed for the next update.  Despite what the programmers may say, the time of the last scan was always updated for Deep Scans (the only scans I do) and boottime scans.

So, why wasn't this fixed?

Sanford,

Just to let you know i have the same problem as you, with Last Computer Scan not updating after running an automatic or manual SCHEDULED scan.  This started to happen for me before the last Version Update and continues.  I have posted re this continuing problem a few days ago and was finally told that it is a BUG which unfortunately was not remedied in the last Version Update (even though we were told it would be) and will be put right in the next Version Update.

So, it would seem that you're being told something which is different.  The problem seems to be that AVG do not all 'sing from the same songsheet' hence giving confusing feedback like you've been given.

As I said in a previous post on this thread: "What if no reports show?   I do not see any.  Either the method described to search for reports is incorrect OR the scheduled scan did not run -- which it has not for months."

Additionally -- last night a "scheduled scan" did not run ( I checked 15 minutes after the scheduled start time and found no indication that a scan was running).  So, I then clicked on "Run Scan Now" and the scan started.  After the scan it showed ‘No problems found’ However, the screen still shows 'Last computer scan: 25 days ago".

When is someone at AVG going to fix this continuing problem?

AVG Scheduled Scan does not run.

What nonsense – how long must this go on?  This problem has been searched on the internet for over a year – and still NO solution.  This is the company that is supposed to be fixing the bugs, not creating them.

Additionally, why would only manual scans show in the field "Last computer scan:"?

This is a main feature of AVG Antivirus – if this basic feature does not work, how can anyone be interested in purchasing ‘advanced’ products?

Hi Sanford,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern.

You can find your other post here. Please try to keep the whole conversation in one question/thread to speed up the resolution.

I would like to inform you that the Last Scan Status will only change only when you run a Manual Scan by clicking on Scan Computer in the AVG User Interface. Schedules Scans won't change the status of the Last Scan.
