Last scan number and deep scan stuck

I have used the repair function and it said I completed it successfully.  I now have 2 buttons on my screen.   However both of them show that I have not scanned my computer for 10 days.  I have done a normal scan daily.  I have tried to run Deep Scan again unsuccessfully.  It takes about 1 minute to get to 5% and then goes no further, even after waiting an hour.

The number for last day scanned is not updating even though I have just run a general scan.  Therefore I decided to run a Deep Scan.  I have tried 6 times now and it never gets past 5%.  It looks to be looping   over the same things repetitively.  What to do?  I have the latest version of Utopia that lets you use on multiple devices.
