Latest 'upgrade' which automatically runs a check each time I start up

I use to be able to select when and how to run a computer check up. (scan) when I wanted. Now it is done automatically each morning/startup. 'Auto' stuff bothers me when I don't select it. How do I disable these checks? Michael

We're glad to look into this & help you.
Please let us know the exact scan that is running at startup & clarify the respective app's version . Is it through AVG Internet Security or AVG TuneUp?
For better clarity share us the screenshot of the scan window. 
To check the version : Open AVG - Menu - About.
