Please check if you've hibernated MS Word while optimizing the computer using AVG TuneUp. 
To do so : Open AVG TuneUp - Speed Up - Show 'Background & startup programs' - Scroll down to find 'Programs that are sleeping' -  check if MS Word is listed. If listed, click on Wake beside it & then ignore it (at top of the same page).

my AVG 'puts to sleep' programs until they are needed. today I cannot launch Microsoft Word what can I do?

Unfortunately AVG Tuneup woukd not open even though, as instructed, I closed down and restarted. What do I do next?
