AVG AntiVirus for the Mac blocked the PSW.ILSpy threat in
Applications->AVG AntiVirus.app->Contents->Backend->lib->libavgcore.dylib

Is AVG distributing a virus in it's updates?

-RB

Same here folks. Got a message first thing this morning and after the threat was quarantined I could no longer scan my system.  Support chat sent me here  - also told me to uninstall my avg 2015 and install 2016. That didn't work. Avast anti-virus didn't find anything, but for some reason I couldn't scan 20some files. Don't know if this is normal with Avast or not, so I'm suspicious.  Hope they figure this out soon cause I want to be sure I don't have a virus!

Same issue here… No answer yet. The only person on technical support redirected me here because they provide only Windows support. Alan, why redirecting Bob to a page outside of the core avg.com domain?

I am having the same problem Since i updated AVG on 16 June. I have had 4 AVG files placed in quarantine say that they could be a trojan horse PSW.ILSpy. 2 of which are Library-application support-com.avg.Antivirus update-download-mac15core4613gb.bin.  1 is Library-application support-com.avg.Antivirus update-prepare-AVG Antivirus. The 4th one is applications-AVG AntiVirus.app-contents-backend-lib-libavgcore.dylib. When this file is in quarantine I am unable to run Mac Scanner or File Scanner and get a message saying "Unable to start scan!(Failed to send the command.) Everything was working fine before this update.

I'm having the same issue and when I contacted technical support I was told to tell my query on this forum but it looks like quite a few people are also having this problem.

They are saying its a false negative. But it doesnt give me much confidence if it keeps popping up with alerts. How ling should it take to fix the issue… or NON issue as the case may be.
