Licence not activated but activated? Not recognising email either

Good morning all.  I run a small I.T. business.  I used to be an AVG reseller, but my discounts weren't worth having so I now buy AVG licences from other resellers for my clients which I register and install for them, using a unique email address ending with my domain so that I am reminded at renewal time and not the client.  This way I'm able to notify the client in advance that their internet security needs renewing, offer a discount and maintain regular contact with clients I might not otherwise see for years.  I've just reinstalled windows & AVG on a clients laptop after a hard drive failure, but the activation code is being rejected as is the email address I used.  I can't use the licence, but I can't recover it either.  I suspect the original email address may have had a typing error in it, but logically, the licence wouldn't be activated if the email hadn't been confirmed. I can find no way of contacting AVG for help.  Which pretty much sums up why I won't pay their prices in the first place.  Anyone else had a similar uissue?  And if so, any suggestions?
