In the recent update, the activation steps for AVG Internet Security has been changed entirely. Do you see Enter the license or activate the product option in AVG Interface?

didn't enter new licence number in time and now unable to reactivate AVG as when I open the icon there is no menu available just icons in red and a note that I need to renew
I am having exactly the same problem and AVG ability to get help is terrible… websire is SO unhelpful… I just want to reactivate my already paid renewal without a pop up saying its expired… please help

I understand the inconvenience caused. As explained in my previous post, it is not possible to access the AVG dashboard after the trial period is elapsed. Please follow the re installation instructions provided to configure AVG on your PC.
