I have downloaded the First pkg. which is for the Debian format.  Now, should I not have some way of getting an AVG Icon for my desktop…  Thanks, Harvey

Which version of AVG Free is to correct version for Linux Mint, I have one Version 16 and one 17.

Harvey, AVG Free for Linux doesn't have a GUI… Have a look @ this link (https://support.avg.com/answers?s=linux#!/feedtype=SINGLE_QUESTION_DETAIL&dc=Windows&criteria=ALLQUESTIONS&id=906b00000004fR4AAI).
