Log file question

Hello Ed,
We will certainly look into this for you.
May I know from where you are viewing this scan result and share us the path details? Could you open AVG AntiVirus and check if the components are in green color?

Thank you.
This is the location where AVG scan reports are saved on your PC. Are you using a free version of AVG?

Hi. I was perusing the logs and noticed this in BrowserProtection.txt:

* Started on: Sunday, August 18, 2019 4:35:43 PM
* Shield stopped: Sunday, August 18, 2019 4:40:44 PM
* Run-time was 5 minute(s), 1 second(s)

What is this log logging, and why 'Shield stopped' so soon? All the other logs only show 'Shield stopped' on PC restart/shutdown.

In my OP, I missed showing that it's the Real-time Shield Scan:

* AVG Real-time Shield Scan Report
* This file is generated automatically
* Started on: Thursday, August 22, 2019 3:42:33 PM
* Shield stopped: Thursday, August 22, 2019 3:47:35 PM
* Run-time was 5 minute(s), 2 second(s)

As this happens every time the PC restarts, may I presume it's a default startup scan of some sort? I have not enabled a boot-time scan.

Well, looking at the logs again, I see that they're all titled Real-time Shield Scan.

Yes, you got that right, Ed.

It is a default scan, and in general it will be executed quickly. You can also create a report for deep scan to see the time stamp for scan start time and end time. This deep scan will take more time to complete, you can see the difference in the scan report.

Yes, I know that's where the scan reports are saved - which is why I was looking at them :slight_smile: I am using a free version.
