Just happened to me again! Was the update already deployed? If yes, this did not fix the problem!
loggingserver.exe and vprot.exe just "downloaded" about 3 GB of Data to nowhere, I have no webcam attached to my computer! Happened while watching some flash videos in chrome.
Just to confirm got update 4716 today (avg free) and it has indeed resolved the issue here I reported above.
Thanks

There is a problem with loggingserver.exe and viewing certain webcams with googlechrome. The problem is that webcam data continues to stream via the internet connection even after the chrome browsers is shut down. Temp disabling AVG will stop the strem. If you have 'surf shield' disabled then the problem does not occur - with this disabled when you close the chrome window the data stream from webcam stops as you would expect.
This is a real and serious problem. It manifest 100% of the time. I have tried it on several different machines now and all show the same behaviour. Can someone from AVG please comment on it.
Firstly I have no such option - the last option in that section on my set up is 'enable thorough scanning'.
Secondly this is not MY issue, it is YOUR issue. There is something wrong with your software when used to view certain webcams using google chrome (and possibly other browsers too). It cause the data stream to continue even after the browser window is closed.
Three weeks after reporting this issue to you, is the above the best you can do ? Has anyone at avg tried to replicate the issue ?
My issue is solved simply by using one of the many alternative anti viris solutions out there. Your issue remains and it seems you do not care much about it.

@ Martin Pointner
Martin, Have you tried the Beta version for yourself to see if the issue is corrected?.

I wonder that this few people even post here with this problem, happens to me twice a week almost… Maybe its hard to find this forums?
Well, not everyone monitors their traffic or knows ho to use the task manager to identify the problem.
But at least some do.
You know, i live and work here in a small (well ok, not SO small) Tourist location and have the shop in center of the town. We just sell everything. So we do sell prepaid internet cards too with maybe 3 or 5 GB usage a month. Many tourists and of course a lot of working force uses my cards. And many of them come to me to help them with their computers.
You wont believe how many ppl dont even have a antivirus program on their computers.
So, I installed and recommended AVG for all of them.
You can imagine how much trouble I had with complaints about "I was only using facebook and have used all of my traffic up already after just 3 days!" ?!? You know how much money you did cost me?
I am a little bit dissapointed that it takes you so long to fix this, you really should have applied some sort of hotfix, because who does install and use beta versions anyway?
Greetings from Austria,
Martin
