Login and Scan Exceptions

Well, I don't want to disable my web shield; it's why I pay for security. What we're concerned about is that suddenly several sites are being blocked that were not blocked before. If you can find Dawn Johnson under "ALL" in this forum, she appears to have the same issue and her screenshot is the exact same alert that I keep getting for 3 sites I've used without incident for YEARS. Chrome keeps me away from serious threats, as does AVG: it just appears that you've gotten too cautious/gone overboard. The threat is even listed "mild" so why won't it let me list the url's as exceptions. Why have a feature that doesn't do what it says it does? I'm sorry! I hate being a complainer. You're a sweet person and deserve better!

HI Karthikeyan! I wasn't "timed in" for more than a few seconds on any page (until now, waiting for answers). It's understandable to be timed out after 15 minutes or so of inactivity. I'm saying I get timed out every time I open a new page, which was every few seconds or so. I don't see a need for that; it's annoying. I will go take those extra steps for my URL exception - I just hope that's not an everytime occurence as well. Thanks so much for your quick response, though! I don't like being a meany! DO have a lovely day!!

Sorry for the delay.

We have checked this AVG account login issue from our end and it seems to work fine.

When we started from a new tab, it did not ask to login again.

We recommend you to try to login to AVG community from a different PC and check if the issue persists or try from a different web browser.

Please let us know the result of this issue with different browser or PC.

Hello AVG Land!!

1. Why do I have to keep logging into my account EVERY time I open a new page on this website? It should keep me logged in while I'm working on my issue here/until I log out myself.

2. I have listed a URL to be an Exception from scanning. I've followed the instructions twice, so why is AVG still blocking the URL?

Thanks in advance for any help with these two issues. I hate to say, but AVG Free was actually less problematic than these services for which I pay a pretty >10,000 pennies.:( It's gotten better this year, but there's still room for improvement, so help us out, please, and I will sing your praises to my people! :)  Have a wonderful day!!

Holly, we will make sure this account logout issue is escalated to the concerned team.

Regarding the exception, follow the below steps to narrow down which component is blocking the URL you are trying to use.

Open AVG program, click on "Menu->Settings->Components", from here disable one component at a time and check disabling which component allows the URL to work.

You can add an exception https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=AVG-Antivirus-scan-exclusions to that particular component.

(Not sure what "particular components" are - I just followed the sequence above)
