PC TuneUP has a bug in it!
When I use the custom login screen function, the custom background does appear on powerup, but sometimes the login sound does not play. When this happens I know I'm in trouble because while entering my password will take me to the "WELCOME" screen, it will go no further. Likewise if I try and power down using the icon in the lower right corner, again the computer will do nothing. Tthe ONLY way I can get it to get out of this is to 'hard boot' the computer using either the 'mechanical' on-off switch or by removing power (i.e. unplug it).
On my laptop this only happens periodically, but on my desc PC it happens ANY time I try and use a custom login screen and then the ony way I can use my computer is to power upusing safe mode and then System Restore to return to a version before I engaged the custom login screen function.
Has anyone else had this problem? I am using Windows 7 Home Premium.
(And please try and refrain from the tired old get ********* instead of Windows" banter…)
