Loss of AVG Ultimate from my computer

I lost my Ultimate from my computer but prior to that my pc tune up disappeared after several attempts I was able to reinstall the pc tune up but not the Ultimate protection.
I spent a total of 6 hours with support attempting to reinstall the Ultimate protection but to no avail in the end I finally gave up and spent the next couple of days without any protection and then in frustation of getting no where I rang customer service and cancelled my auto renew explaining the reason.   
I have now installed Avast as a replacement which installed and works ok, you may know Avast now owns AVG and should like me your protection with AVG has been a hit/miss since the major upgrade it may be worth considering.
At no time has AVG been able to fix my problem or been able to give a reason, 5 engineers have tried but I just got the impression they where following a manual as they all did the same.
AVG never apologised for the loss or their inability to reinstall or even offered a refund for loss of service even though I am fully paid up for over 200 days.
I am posting this as a warning to others in case it happens to them but I hope it does`nt I would not like any one else to suffer the frustration and stress I went through.
