Sometimes, this might happen if few services are unable to initiate.
In this regad, we'd suggest you to try repairing AVG program once to check if it helps.
My subscription to Internet Security just renewed. "My Subscription" shows it active and my renewal was billed and paid. But my computer says I am unprotected, and when I click on the AVG icon nothing happens. Help!
Ran repair. It now seems to be working.
