Lost 4 weeks of subscription on reactivation of AVG Internet security

My AVG Internet security was due to expire on 31 July 2015. As the AVG pop up said it was going to expire I purchased a new licence to reactivate it and on registration got a new activation number. On entering the number it now will expire on 3 July 2016 and NOT on 31 July 2016 as it should. This means that I have lost the remaining 4 weeks of my old subscription as it was not extended by a year from the expiry date of 31 July 2015. Please assist.
