Hello Gav,
We regret to inform you that the data removed/deleted using the AVG TuneUp cannot be retrieved.
After a scan, the AVG TuneUp prompts you to choose the folders/files you wish to delete. If you had overlooked that & proceeded to resolve the performance issues found, the files will be permanently deleted and cannot be retrieved.
For further information regarding the AVG TuneUp, refer to this article.

The same thing happened to me and it's because AVG has a GIGANTIC FLAW! It You assume that when you run the 'find duplicates' scan it will only show the duplicate files, but no, it shows you the original and the duplicate files in the same window. If you, like any sane person, you assume that all the files it found ARE DUPLICATES you, most of the people here who got screwed, will select ALL of them to be deleted because you think that you're only deleting the duplicate files and not the originals. And to top it all there is no option to undo this clusterf*uk. I most definitely will not be extending my trial subscription. This is ignorant and arrogant software engineer BS personified.
Hi crew, got a slight problem
I have a Mac with AVG Premium and thought I was being helpful and would perform a de-clutter. Apparently my other half now has lost her files from the downloads folder and there is nothing in the trash, it's just an empty screen. Was done a couple of days ago.
Any suggestions where i can find them so I may recover the files.
Heaps of thanks
Gav
