Lost several weeks of service by renewing early

My AVG Ultimate subscription is due for renewal on 19/12/2019. On 19/11/2019 I received an email telling me my subscription expires in 30 days. That's fine. This email included this: Renewing before expiration saves you the hassle later: your new subscription will automatically start once your current one ends. It also ensures you won’t go a day without full protection. This indicated to me that my new twelve months would start on 19/12/2019. The email encouraged me to renew early so I would have uninterrupted protection. On 20/11/2019 I renewed my subscription for 12 months. When I accessed my account a few days later it showed a renewal date of 20/11/2019, so by renewing early I had effectively lost a month of protection I had paid for. This just seems like a scam - paying for something I did not receive.

I have spoken to AVG and had my expiration date amended, I think. My complaint is that by acting on the advice to renew early I effectively threw away one twelfth of my payment.

I am still confused. Are you asking if I want the time remaining on my previous Ultimate Subscription added to my new one the answer is Yes. I want the new subscription with all the products listed above to be valid until 18 December 2020, not 20 November 2020. This is what I understood would happen based on the renewal email sent to me by AVG on 19 November 2019. I note that email refers several times to subscription "Renewal". I suggest in future your renewal reminders are more clear and explain upfront exactly what happens when purchasing a product.

The latest AVG Ultimate Multi-device package that you bought includes below mentioned products:
AVG Internet Security for Windows
AVG TuneUp for Windows
AVG Secure VPN for Windows
AVG Password Protection for Windows
AVG Internet Security  for Mac
AVG TuneUp Premium for Mac
AVG Secure VPN for Mac
AVG AntiVirus PRO for Android
AVG Cleaner PRO for Android
AVG Secure VPN for Android
AVG Secure VPN for iOS

Hello Christopher,

I apologize for the confusions that happened due to AVG subscriptions. Let me clarify what exactly happened with your account.
You made a purchase for AVG Ultimate (1 Year) subscription on 18th December 2017 and paid A$43.23 charge as you received A$91.69 discount for it.
Since auto renewal service was enabled for it, you have been charged A$139.99 on 4th December 2018 and the discounted price will not be applied for the renewals.
Your Ultimate package includes both AVG Internet Security and AVG TuneUp programs for windows. AVG Antivirus and AVG Cleaner for Android. AVG Antivirus and AVG TuneUp for Mac.

Sorry for that, Christopher.
Our sales team already added the remaining validity left over on Ultimate purchase. They did not cancel the previous Ultimate purchase and now I have cancelled it and also added the Secure VPN Windows subscription to existing AVG Ultimate Multidevice.
The only subscription available on your account is AVG Ultimate Multidevice and it is valid till 12th February 2021.
In order to make these changes, we had to cancel the auto renewal service. Hence, you will receive email reminder at the time of expiry and you need to renew the subscription manually.
You can't view this subscription details AVG MyAccount as we made changes with the subscription internally.
To get all programs included in AVG Ultimate multidevice package, we have sent an email to get connected with our additional support.
If the email is not found in inbox do check in spam and junk folders.
