Hi Balasubramanian,
I'd like to follow up on your check with your senior team? It's been over two weeks and I have yet to hear anything.
Hello, Sarah.
Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in response. May I know what is the status of Mac Shield and Web Shield components on AVG Anti Virus?
There is no change. I’m going to be honest, I’m about ready to remove AVG from my computer install something else. I’m very disappointed with the response time of the support centre and the lack of solutions for the issues I’m having with your product. I’ve been given the same solution 3 times and each time I perform it without success, I give immediate feedback. Then 2-3 weeks later, I’m asked to perform the SAME thing. I work in the customer service industry and this is extremely poor service.
Hello Sarah,
We have not yet released AVG Antivirus 18.3 for mac (which will be released soon). However, the web shield should be working with AVG Antivirus 18.2 version.
In this case, I request you to uninstall the existing AVG Antivirus from your mac computer and follow the instruction to install AVG Antivirus again on our mac computer.
Regards,
Alok.

Sarah, thank you for providing the screenshot. Are you getting any error message when trying to enable the components? If so please attach the screenshot of it to the email which I have sent to you.
Thanks.
I just downloaded AVG for my mac and it says that I'm not protected. I've tried going into my system preference as it suggests but there's no option for it there. I've looked at other posts who have the same issue, and it was suggested that users update to 8.3. I have 8.2 installed and can't find 8.3 anywhere, including on the links provided. Does anyone have any other solutions??
I’m the only user on the Mac and it hasn’t been a prompt for an admin password since the installation process.
Thank you for being patient, Sarah.
These components will be turned on when the Mac is operating on Admin account.
Have you logged in as Administrator on Mac?
If yes, have you tried entering the admin password when prompted?
Sarah, we appreciate your efforts on this matter.
For allowing AVG Antivirus on Mac, refer this (article).
Keep us informed about the status.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program a dozen times now, follow every step as it's described, and it still doesn't change anything.
Where am I suppose to look to make sure that its extentions have been allowed?
this isn't a link to an article; it's like a search with options none of which explain what you want me to do. the only one that might be close is the one about firewalls. i've already made sure that the program would work within my firewall.
Sarah, the article that was provided earlier was https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=Allow-AntiVirus-extensions-macOS-High-Sierra&supportType=home Could you try checking the above link and inform the status?
Thanks for confirming.
We'd request you to login as administrator and run the avg_drivers.sh script which was shared to you earlier. If it asks for a password, please use your admin user account password.

Sarah,
If I were you, I would feel the same. We have forwarded your concern to our senior team and waited for their response, that's why it took some time. Your support and patience is much appreciated. Now, our senior team requested log files to analyze the situation. Shall we draft you an email to collect logs required for escalation?

Hi Alok,
I've uninstalled and reinstalled AVG twice, everytime I get the same result.
Any other suggestions?
I'm now getting a notification when I try double clicking on the icons.
I'm not able to turn on the Mac Shield and the Web Shield. It's not an option to do so; even the little slide bars on the screen don't work. The only error message I'm getting is the one in the screenshot above. I'm able to manually run scans of my computer and open/clear the quarantine.
