MAC OS - Unable to start scan! (Failed to send the command.)

We regret for the inconvenience caused. The update containing fix was already released however additional steps has to be done to make it work.
Please disable the Realtime Protection and then run the update. Once update is completed you can enable Realtime Protection again and check whether it resolves the issue.

As of last night 16/06/2016 i get the following message on my MAC when trying to start scan -Unable to start scan! (Failed to send the command.)

It appears that other MAC users are getting the same issue over the last two days.

I assume the problem is at your end.  can you advise how this is rectified.

I use the Free AVG products and installed them on the MAC when this was new last year so AVG is not a recent addition.  I ran a scan perfectly OK last night, and I am now unable to repeat this and keeping getting the error message.
